I want to help people teaching young children. Where can I post to let people know?
swguk asked:
I am a teacher with 7 year experience. I recently went along with my friend to one of her Yoga Bugs lessons where she teaches small children in a group how to do Yoga aimed at their level.
She has never worked with children before and as I sat watching her I grabbed a piece of paper and began writing down things she did well and things she could do to improve her practice. At the end of her session we talked about what I had written and she said that I had been really helpful.
The next time she did Yoga Bugs she telephoned me afterwards and said that my advice had helped her a lot and she was very pleased with the changes she had made and the outcomes. She said that I should go and do this for other people for a small fee.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas how I can get interest from other Yoga Bug teachers, or people who work in similar fields with children, in regards to my feedback offer. My friend had received her Yoga Bugs training but said that on her course to become qualified she had not worked with children and was nervous and found starting out difficult. I am sure there are people in her position out there that I could help and make a bit of extra cash too.
Anyone got any ideas? Anything is useful.
Thanks, Viki ![]()
P.S. If anyone would like me to help them please ask!
Probably also worth mentioning I am in Manchester, UK

It sounds like you have an excellent talent, but you should NOT be trying to find people by posting online. You’ll be posting where FEW people you can help will see it that way.
There are a couple options you can try:
1) sign up at your local colleges that give extension courses and teach a class on how to teach children. You can give each student a coupon for you to do a day of observation when they begin teaching after they have attended your class.
2) see if you can post fliers at local libraries and schools.
3) see if local schools will send a notice of your services to parents of their students.
get the drift??? I’ll bet you can think of more similar places now.

try to contact the Yoga Bugs organization, or post at places that you know people will be helping kids at, such as baby-sitting, day cares, etc. you could hold classes for all kids of people doing that kind of thing
it sounds like you would be a great teacher or mom if this doesn’t work out. thanks for the answer btw.
Find out which agency provides training for early childhood educators. In the US, we have a government funded agency Child Care Resource and Referral. You could offer to give a training or help with trainings.
We have mentoring programs administered by each state.
Our library is always looking for volunteers to read or provide other activities with young children.
You can check with the government licensing agency. They have all information concerning any children’s program.
Good luck in your quest!
